Finally - got the steel monkey off my back. So excited I decided to submit my first report. Fished a couple hundred yards downstream of the Hwy 18 bridge. Tried bobber and jig, like other people there, for 3 hours - no hits, but the guy next to me lost a nice one when it went 4 ft in the air. Switched to drift rig and boom! - caught this 7#, 30" hatchery steelhead at 4:00PM - the same place everyone else was using bobbers earlier. The bite was very light - I only realized I had it on because I twitched the rod tip on could have been a bump from a rock.
River was about 3' visibility, running 1300 cfs. Used 3.5 ft flourocarbon leader, 1/2 oz. slinky, 2 - #4 hooks with a #12 pink/peach corkie in-between (Beau Mac #55), pink yarn, and shrimp scent.

Jens: Yup, that was me at Clarks Creek. Watched you guys use your amazingly effective bridge lookout technique. I put two and two together later, after looking at this site and, figured out who you guys were. Great bunch of guys - see you around!

Nice job DoubleR. You help net couple of my fish down at CC. I'm glad you finally hit it big. How big was that fish? It looks huge, or is that a photo shop effect. :) Jens is really good with photo shop, just like his last pic.
