Went to the cowlitz yesterday. After all of the fishing in these loacaql rivers it felt nice to have a familiar river. It was perfect. No snags in your drift, fishing rolling. Current was perfect and the river was lower than I'm used to. Some guys next to me hooked into a couple big salmon, but they broke them off. I couldn't keep the trout off my corky. Nothing big for me, but I saw a guy come out with a salmon and a steelhead on the same stringer. That's a great thing, not knowing what you're going to pull out because there're so many different types of fish in the river. Fished at Blue Creek and then the Barrier Dam. Third place I went yesterday so I wasn't there long. It was nice to make it back.
