Caught this small hatchery buck near Ben Howard this morning, but my first one ever using a spoon ! A cheap silver and dark blue stripe one that is 1/2 oz in weight. I couldn't believe it since I never ever use spoons but they were actually hitting on this thing and I swear its one of those cheapo 99 cent ones ya see on the small cardboard stands you grab them off by the checkstand or whatever. Lol. I lost 2 and they were much bigger. The last one I lost was definately a good sized one, and just his dead weight in between the 10 minute battle felt like it could snap my line at any moment. I think he might have been snagged because when he flew out of the water about 5 feet a few times it looked like my line was toward the rear of him. Hard to tell, but he got off anyway. I saw a bunch of smaller fresher fish moving in and jumping also, but couldn't make what they were. I imagine just Kings, but they were very fresh whatever they were. This is my 2nd buck so far being caught... All my other Kings have been females so far... Helped another guy out that was new, and he actually hooked into a King, but lost it. But the excitment running thru him was awesome to see =) Good luck out there !
