ok, so i run 12 lb izer green line mainline, maxima green 10 lb leader. either tie a baitloop to a hook slide a corkie on your leader , put yarn or salmon eggs through egg look and sinch down. tie the leader to a snap swivel, and your mainline to the other side of the swivel. put a peice of lead, precut weight, slinkys and thing for weight to bounce off the bottom. and if using yarn, use scent. thats drift fishing.
for spinner fishing, tie your mainline to a swivel, then about a foot of maxima leader typing straight to your spinner. so your mainline doesnt tangle up. hope this helps a little bit for kind of a visual, i would post a pic but i dont know how. sorry lol

There's lots of really great info on this site if you go to the Forums (Under the Community link at the top of the site) Check out the River section and read through the old posts. More info there than anyone could type in a comment here, and you can probably find pics and stuff too.
Also you can find pics and illustrations and descriptions as well as lots of other great info if you go to SteelheadUniveristy.com

It easy to replace a treble hook to a single siwash hook on a spinner/spoon... Just open the split ring and slide the stock treble off or use wire clippers and cut it off, and pinch a new siwash on.
There's lots to learn, be patient and keep at it.
