Since I was recently laid off for the season I decided to finally try my hand at some salmon fishing. I went out Monday and Tuesday to an area just north of the golf course in Auburn, using a corky and yarn, with little success.

Wednesday, after a trip to my local sporting goods store and advice from the young man working behind the counter, I had a new method to try. BOY did it WORK!!! I ended my day with a limit of salmon, including one nice silver. I lost many more fish than what I brought home and had a great time.

The pinks are in rough shape, but still look good enough for the smoker.

Nice! Gotta love the bonus coho while playing with the pinks!

It was a nice surprise, and my first WA coho! I'm hoping to get many more.

Becareful, i smoked some of the pinks that were post spawn and it ruined the rest of the fish that wasnt post spawn, pretty nasty stuff, it didnt look to bad but it ruined my batch!
