Tried the Carbon for the first time on Sat. Hooked several nice sized fish, but fishing 12 and 10 I couldnt hold em in that fast water. Fishing up by the hatchery. Saw some really nice fish come out. Even saw a couple that were barely showing any red at all. Guys using freaking jetti rods with thick line, just reafing them out with very little fighting. Not much sport in that. I had a blast fighting the few I did hook. Using small black beads with yellow and orange "bolts" on them with black and yellow yarn. I came unprepare for the fast water only brought 1/4 ounce weights and 10lb leaders. Next time I will go 17 and 15 and 1\2 to 3\4 wieghts- should allow me to win the fight.

My day was cut short due to the rain. That water came up fast, I had to find a new place to down river to cross. came up about a foot in just a few hours. I admit that I had some concerns about staying the night on the bank.... but that would have only meant more fishing time and less wife nagging time!!!!
