Decided to take a trip out to the Skook for the first time. I drove up to the stretch past Tenino and fished along the banks from Sunrise until about noon. Weather was cold and clear, and the river seemed in decent shape.
Tried floating jigs/shrimp and drifted eggs/corky/yarn as well. I ran into about 8 other guys during the day and nobody was getting any action.
Just as I was leaving, one guy hooked into a nearly dead silver using a spoon. Another guy pulled a surprisingly bright silver from another slot as well.
Speaking to a couple of the old timers there, they mentioned it would probably be another couple weeks before the steelies start making their way up to that part of the river.
