River was dropping nicely so I headed to Reiter and got there around 8 AM. Around 12 rigs in the parking lot and around 20 fishermen which grew a little bit as the morning wore on. Saw several fish caught in the lower part of the drift but nothing much was happening above or below the intake. I started with a float/jig combo which yielded no results for me or anyone nearby. Some of the fish down below were caught on jigs but as the morning wore on I noticed more were being taken on drift gear. I switched to my drift rod/reel and started working the drift in front of me. After about an hour I hit a 5 pound buck that did some aerials before he was netted by a nearby helpful fisherman. I needed to get some stuff done so I quit on that happy note. I got to see the legend known as Joechiro walking out with a nice pair of metalheads early in the morning.....that dude can fish. Broke in a new rod, reel and fishing vest so the skunk scent is gone for the new gear. That is important. ;-) Tight lines to all.

Nice one! I caught one just like it right around 10am or so; 5-6 lb buck caught on drift gear. Looks like you, Joe, and I all got a similar fish yesterday. Not a bad day on the river at all. That may have been me that netted your fish (I lost count of how many I netted - might have to start charging, haha) - I was the guy in the red jacket and red hat. See you out there again soon!

Natewatters, I think the guy next to me borrowed your net to net my fish. I returned it to you with a thank you. Very friendly and cooperative crowd on the river which makes a good day even better. Thanks again.

No prob! This is my first season fishing up there and it's nice how everyone is so helpful and willing to share tips and even gear sometimes. Like you said - makes a good day even better. Thinking about heading out again tomorrow - maybe I'll see you out there!
