Fished Cedar Hole a week prior (Aug 11) with powerful hook ups and fish caught all around us. Lost a few there but the combat line was active and my party of 4 had a great time. Moved from there to the log jam at Purdy Cutoff and that's where we got the harvest. Wasn't nearly as crowded as Cedar.
Anyway, we fished the log jam again on the 18th and to be short...it was dead. No one there (approx 25 anglers) hooked up while we fished it between 10am and 1pm. After reeling in we went up the road to chat with a friend at the Hoodsport hatchery and he said they hadn't seen any in for a few days. Disappointing day especially since we left the house at 1am for Pacific County only to strike out before doing the same at the Skok.
