went to the skykomish with lots of hope after being dissapointed fishing in the columbia last week. started at about 10am out fishing just before the sultan bridge and not a fish in sight. so we went to the salmon hatchry and asked where some good spots were. so we headed up north and stopped on the highway up the river pretty high. i saw one coho right under me about 5lbs didnt even try for it. then after no luck we went under the bridge right after goldbar which we saw 2 big coho and tried and tried and tried but no bites. i really liked the sky but i just couldnt hook a single fish. i tried useing corkies and yarn with no result then a blue fox #4 spinner with nothing. i left with no fish. this is my first season fishing in sometime and i just dont know any good spots in the sky. if anyone has an exact location where they like or any kind spinners they like or something to use please let me know.

"ok second time ive posted for some reason it didnt post my first one" - reports are not auto posted, they are reviewed and then put on the site, fyi. The Sky will turn on nicely, give it another 1-2 weeks, still a bit early for coho I think.

Take a look at what time you started fishing and a lot of your issues start right there. Get out of bed early and be on the river before daylight. I would be fishing down lower this early in the season. Coho can be very finacy biters and they will turn on and off in a heart beat. Go buy yourself a bunch of tiny Dick Nites in the 50/50 chrome and brass. I use a heavy enough lead that when I cast 90 degrees to my postion, I can walk the gear on the bottom all the way through the drift. The take will usally come at the end of the drift. I run the Dick Nite on 3-4' of leader and my 3/16" pencil lead is on a 6" dropper. BTW, did I metion to be on the water early? Good luck.
