My efforts finally paid off. First Coho from a river.
Hit 112th this morning before work. A few more people than yesterday, but not as many fish jumping. Hardly saw anything caught. Guy across from me picked up a couple. After trying hardware for a while I switched to corkie and yarn. Red with peach yarn. A few casts later and it got hammered. Good fighting jack about 6lbs. Went to mark it on my CRC and my pen wouldn't work....go figure! A guy on the bridge who'd been watching me the whole time congratulated me on the fish and then offered me his pen when he saw me fighting with mine. A big thanks to him.
That was it for the morning. Glad to get that skunk off.

out of curiosity, where are you fishing from the bank on the lower green? I havent fished it below Auburn and am growing tired of the puy.

Oy! Wouldn't you know the bite starts to finally show and the nets go in Sunday... Fiddlesticks. Smart timing for the Native American netters I guess. Hope they leave some biters behind for sporties.

Seems like just about everyone out there is throwing hardware and they are not having much luck . I think sportco is pushing hardware on everyone. I throw yarn and corky 90% of the time im there and get a lot of action. I was the guy across the river from you.

c_c, fishing down below the 405, the upper river opens on Sunday I believe. I fished at 112th street.
Knot, I'd say the fishing looked to be better yesterday than today, so some are getting by the nets. Even saw a seal at 112th Thursday at high tide.
Chromer, well, it was a jack, but apparently both my pocket scale and estimation skills are way off. It turned out not to be 6lbs. Weighed at home on a different scale (minus the guts) it was 4lbs. So, maybe 4.5 out of the water. Still nice fish, but not nearly as big as previously thought. If I were a true fisherman, I'd not admit that.
Hooked, were you the guy under the bridge catching fish or the one I hooked lines with?

Jens, you're right, it didn't happen. :) Nice to see you're still around bud. Hope you're still knock'n'em dead.
Thanks for all the encouragement gentlemen.

Nothing opens on the green this sunday. Silvers are considered jacks under 20", although most jacks on the green are smaller. Thanks for the report.

Jake, you're right, upper river doesn't open until at least Oct. 1. Thanks.
