Hit the Wallace Hatchery this morning and I was not disapointed. Fished for about 2 hours with bobber and jig but no luck. Switched to drift fishing with champane colored yarn and bam, fish on. Did use some salmon sent to help out also. Luckily I brought my net and the guy next to me helped me land my 10 lb fire truck coho. Thanks. This one is going straight to the smoker. Can't wait for this one to get all vacuum packed. Water level running high and some color in the water. With all the other nearby rivers running out of control, it's time for the Wallace.

thanks for the report, how do you get to the hatchery area? i mean do you just wade through the river or you drove and park at the hatchery itself? i've been wanting to check out the area,i tried driving to the wallace hatchery and saw lots of "no trespassing" sign dont wanna get into trouble so just drove out and just park by the hwy 2 and walked down the hwy 2 bridge hole and fished with no luck. thanks.

The sky looks good at the moment. It is still dropping, but is not brown anymore. As for the wallace hatchery, you are allowed to drive in and park at the hatchery. The no trespassing signs are for the surrounding private property.

Jethro,
Park at hatchery and walk to your right over bridge and follow signs. You can fish right in front of the hatchery door if you want or go left futher down. You'll see opportunies if the river is running high and the fish are in.
