Reward for a weekend of hard work – Monday morning fishing!

Decided to continue to try to unlock the Skykomish Reiter Ponds Hwy side. The river is dropping today is in stellar shape. Flow was 4,300 and the water is that perfect shade of steelhead green.

There were about a dozen anglers on the hatchery side, and four of us on the highway side to start the day (7:15am). I found my spot and started the day floating a pink jig and a small piece of prawn. I did this for about an hour and then spent the rest of the morning tossing eggs under a float. The weather was pretty nice – well, anything other than rain and wind is nice in my book!

I’ll cut to the chase – skunked again. I did see more fish caught this day. About 8 were caught on the hatchery side and 3 on the highway side. So my pics are of other people’s fish, oh well. I got some good video footage and will work on a Reiter’s Pond video so everyone can see what this terminal fishery is about. I will say, it would be more interesting to get the footage on a weekend, now that would make for a fun video!

Anyway, got some fresh air in my lungs and egg cure on my fingers, what more can a guy ask for on his fishing day off

Great pics Mike. Thanks. Sorry to hear of your skunk. I also got the goose egg this morning on the Snoqualmie. Saw a few caught though.

I know I'll catch one, one of these days. Just feels good to get out and see fish being caught.

Hey Mike, at least you are getting out there! that is half the battle! lol
you will get yours soon! This month is too hard for me to get out there but plan on hitting it heavy in Jan and Feb before it gets too busy again for me!
