With the runs around here being less than super exciting, I've been moving my operations down south to fish on the Skookumchuck. This is going to be a good year for this river again! In between Coho and brighter B-Run coho we've been hitting steelhead, which is our main goal. With the amount of early fish that we've been seeing, I'm very excited about this year.

We've hit lots of coho on roe. Floated eggs and jigs, shrimp and plugs, all of which have been effective for some sort of bite.

There are some monster steel in there like last year, an 18 pounder, 12 pounder and 9 pounder in the three days we've been down on the river this last week. Search and destroy, because these fish are bitey!

If you've been putting off learning to steelhead until the new year, this is the perfect river to learn on! Give me a call and we can get you some late coho and slab steel!

been fishing the sky and i have had no problems bonking my two for the day. i guess you could say right spot at right time, but five different times and three different spots i must be doing something right. jig float and weight is all you need. no prawns no smelly jelly in my experience it pushes the fish more then any thing. tight lines and good luck.

I like catching 2 fish, but I'd rather catch 10.
