On the river from about 10a.m. till 4:30, only heard of two steelhead out of the river all day. I did manage to go 3 for 4 on some moldy coho though.
Started at the cable crossing, and worked my way down river, using bobber and eggs. Lost my brand new fillet knife somewhere in the woods about 1/4 mile down from the parking area (maybe I'll get lucky and someone here found it lol) after hooking those coho and deciding to move on. Not even any hens to get some egss back for my troubles.
Not a great day on the river, but still, it beats the alternatives; work, or worse yet, laundry!
On a side note, I found someones tackle, left in the parking area (can't understand how someone could forget something like this, it's huge!). Found a fishing license inside so it looks like I'll be making a side trip to Lacey tomorrow.
Lesson learned at someone elses expense; take a quick look around the vehicle before getting in and driving away!
