Weather cooperated, despite the recent cold it was not bad. Arrived 10:30, saw a couple people leaving with fish, saw one fish caught on highway side of Reiter. while we were there. We put in 3 hours mostly float fishing slow day.......spent 20 minutes cutting line and hauling some garbage out of the highway side when done.
It is awful how much trash people have left behind and the amount of line even worse. We watched herons and eagles all morning flying around, I wonder if some of the folks that fish up here realize what the line does to those animals, not to mention the fish if they get tangled in the yards and yards of it that eventually enter the river in high water. I know many of the regulars are not causing this, but everyone should take a minute and look around before you leave your spot, with a little effort this are does not have to be a hazard/garbage dump.
This was my first trip up here this year, discouraging, not from the fishing being slow, but from the lack of care taken by some of the folks fishing here.

Sorry to hear that man, I don't get up there much but when I do I'll pick some of that crap up. Will never understand why someone who enjoys the outdoors would trash it. Thanks for picking some of the garbage up!

Thanks Bank Drifter for taking the time and effort to pick up. Its disgusting how much waste is left behind by others.

Yes, a few do ruin it for the many. One of my last trips out I saw a wad of braided line someone had ripped out an left in a tangle on the bank. For some reason I viewed that as even worse than mono, although I guess there really is no difference. Thanks for picking up after the children. Sorry to hear you were not rewarded for your efforts.

No kidding! Thanks for picking up when you should not have too! If you bring it in, take it out! Pretty simple! I also pick trash up as I see it.. It's a precious resource we have and we want to keep it pristine!

Well, I should have done more! Great comments by great sportsmen...and to see one person say, " I will pick up some next time" is awesome!
Some times you have to give back and expect nothing I return but when you see comments like this, it is great....good luck to all....
