The river was sloooooooooow tonight. We were on Houston Rd again by the Cannery. We were out there from 5pm to 8:30pm. I went 0/4. My buddy went 2/5, both were pinks. A big buck and a hen. He graciously donated them to me.

The slow fishing and rainy weather must have scared some people away. There was a good 8-10 feet in between guys.

But fair warning, if you see an old Russian guy out there with a blue and white hat that looks like a bear (yes it even has ears)...steer clear of him! He has no concept of etiquette and pretends not to speak much English. He casts over everyone, never waits his turn, tangles up with people constantly, then doesn't listen to anyone if they are trying to help untangle the lines. He was next to me, and got tangled with me, so I was untangling the lines and the guy had a barbed hook! I told him that's illegal and all of a sudden he speaks English! He said he clipped it, but he did not. It was a full on barbed hook. I told him that it was absolutely not clipped and he said he would go clip it "some more". Wasn't clipped at all in the first place. And I'm not the only one who was fed up with him. Everyone up and down the line had issues with him. He's a repeat offender too, he was out there on Tuesday as well and he was a knucklehead then too. No problems with anyone else tonight. Had friendly conversations with everyone else.

Supposedly there was a good sized King landed just before we got there. But all in all, in the 3.5 hours I was there, I saw maybe 6 pinks brought in. Very slow.

The water level was very high and the silt was very cloudy in the water. My buddy hooked into huge balls of monofilament line about 3 different times. Guys must just cut their lines, or unspool and just let the line go in the river. So disrespectful.

Will be back out there Saturday morning with a group of buddies. The main run has to come in any time now.

Where are you guys going to fish tomorrow morning? Would you mind if I tagged along? I need some pointers on the Puke as I have not been through the "combat fishing" routine yet...I was thinking about trying tonight after work around Fred Meyer...Thanks

I think we're gonna be on Houston Rd again. I would love to meet up with you. I've been wanting to meet some guys from the board. I'll send you a PM with my contact info. We're planning on being there at 4:30am to have our poles in the water by 5am. You can make your first cast an hour before sunrise, which is about 5am.

We want to get there first thing in the morning to secure our spot. PM'ing you now.
