Launched the boat & headed up the Duwamish but didn't get quite where we would have liked. The river is blocked at the bridge between the 1st ave bridge & the 112th hole (not sure what it's called). There was definitely no shortage of fish as they were literally jumping all around us every few seconds. Some even close enough to splash us inside the boat... But no biters. Frustrating to say the least! Tried jigs with plastics tails, marabou jigs & a few spoons as well. The only 1 that we saw boated in the few hours we were out was by lucky guy of the day trolling around. Didn't even see any hook ups out there. Definitely a weird day with fish being all over & simply just not interested

I share your frustration! Thought the Pinks would be a nuisance by now, but having a hard time even finding those. How was the river blocked? Was it by construction crews? Just curious.

I thought they would be too! After the tough season you & I both had last year with those tight lipped coho, I was really looking forward to just knocking it out this year. I've been out 3 or 4 times a week since opening & only had one successful trip.

I should have taken a picture but it's a couple of huge construction barges almost completely blocking the river. There is a spot on the east bank that we saw a few people in smaller boats squeak through but it's only about 8 or 10 feet wide. Our yacht is only a 14 ft runabout but didn't want to risk getting rolled into the barge.

High tide was at 10:30am today. We're you fishing before or after? My experience has been the outgoing tide is good, the incoming shuts off the bite.

Before, through & after. From right about 8 am to 2:15 pm. Thanks for the tip though!

I saw those barges today as I stopped at the public access park off of East Marginal way just after you come off the viaduct going south and the nets weighted down with lots of fish but also lots of fish still jumping. It was about noon when I stopped by and could see the tide running out and Gringo is correct, on the incoming all they are interested in is getting up river but on the outgoing they hate fighting that current and hang around and get anxious and are better biters. Also probably seeing more silvers now and they are always pretty tight lipped. Try trolling a dick nite spoon and also wee wiggle warts in pink or fire tiger or red for both pinks and silvers on the outgoing. Keep at it!!

The vote has it! Outgoing tide it is. Does it matter what time of day or just when the tide is running out?
