Got to the river around 8:00am and fished until noon. Not to much action goin on but I did manage to land one and lose one the first 20 min of my arrival. A little rain would be nice as the holes are starting to diminish. Good luck out here

educate someone fishing his first season in the rivers here. what does the rain do that entices the fish to head up river?

Hopefully the rain will rinse out all those dead humpies!

the rain does a few things (and please anyone who reads this feel free to add jump in)
1. there are some spots of the river that are a bit low and fish wont move up until there is enough water
2. it push minerals from the soil down river which salmon can sense or "smell" and make their way back home
3. for anglers, it also makes the river high which means these "holes" that we talk about hold fish in them until they are ready to head up river.

There are many more reasons why rain is good but these are the ones I am aware of.
