Using the DjB "hike in somewhere" method, I went on Sunday morning below Sultan and found a hole I thought would be a champ. No coho, just pinks although not as many pure zombies as you'd expect and some of the females even looked potentially keepable. Fun hauling them in even with no coho...until I lost basically all the gear I brought with me and called it a day.
Keep nailing those fish, and watch out for bears and cougars.

10/21/2013 7:20:00 AM@glort: Haha I am no master, I just love exploring and because of it I have put myself onto some coho. May I ask what you were using for the coho? If you twitch jigs they work well on enticing a bite.

10/21/2013 9:07:00 AMI was using jigs for the most part. Foul hooked and released lots of pinks and fair caught a couple but they weren't keepers. Looking at some pics of spawning coho online, I think I actually did see some coho after all. I hooked one in particular that I was thinking was a female pink in good shape - had a green back but did a full on jump which I would not expect from a spawning pink. I don't remember seeing white belly and maybe hindsight wishing thinking makes me think I saw some orangy-red to it. Cheap jig hook bent though, so goodbye fish and who knows for sure.
I'm absolutely up for trying jigs again. Gotta get some better quality ones and the right colors to put on them.

10/21/2013 12:38:00 PMYa, I was having that problem as well. Green and black were hot colors but now that the visibility is better I use darker colors like navy blue and black, or purple and black. A little krill scent and its fish on!!
