Off of Old Pacific Hwy there is a location that DoD card holders are allowed to fish from. It is on the stretch of river south of five just north of the Old Pac Hwy. I went there for my first time salmon fishing and there were bites, we hooked a few but all morning (5.57am-noon) and out of my group of people 2 fish were caught but one had to be let go because it was foul caught. Then out of the string of people fishing in that spot there were 3 that could be taken home. I hooked one and it got off.
The fish weren't jumping and my friend who has been fishing there for years says it was quite slow as you could not see fish jumping or breaking the water on their own.
