I've fished the Icicle at the Leavenworth hatchery a few times now. The only reason this report is not a 5 star is due to the quality of the fish. They are still fun to catch. But, they are tired and showing the wear and tear of their long journey.(Approx. 490 miles.) I've been using a black 1/8 OZ. rabbit zonker jig. I've seen others catch them with silver spinners. The river came up with the rain. Although, still great water clarity and very fishable. It rained off and on. Others came, caught and went. The fish checker thought I was a little crazy for C&R as he kept wanting to measure them & I was looking for better quality fish. They were very delicate biters in frog waters. And yet would also pick it up in fast moving water. The fellow Walaker I was fishing with shall remain un-named. I had hooked and landed 4 or 5 before he switched to a different hole. He hooked and landed 4 fish in short order. He said,"Those things hit so light I might have been getting hits in the first hole & didn't know it."
There are a pile of fish in there. So, go gett'em!

Hey glad you could get out there! I love that river and always check it out when visiting mother-in-law in Wenathee! Have never fished it though! Nice job!

Hey Barry, I normally don't fish there. But, this is a rare chance to fish Coho over here and I couldn't pass it up. It is such small water and often crowded. But, I had a lot of fun.
Wenatchee is small enough there is a 50/50 chance I know your mother in law!!

Great to see that the Coho are up in there. Great spot not to far from the west side and the scenery is unbeatable. Probably the first Coho report I have read from up there. Thanks, might have to hit it up. Any other fish in there besides Coho right now? Any Steelhead? Or Bows / Cutts / Bull Trout / Whitefish up feeding on eggs? Just wondering. Good to see that river putting out a few fish.

Hey dogfish7, This is the first time they've opened it in years. I didn't see or hear of any Steelhead. I'm sure all the others should be close behind.
