Today my friend and I fished the green river. This is territory I have never stepped foot on. We usually hang out on the OP but with 6 inches of rain forecasted out there today we said hell! Lets do something new. We floated the green valley stretch on our craigslist bought pontoons boats. And although we didn't hook into any steelhead, it is a really nice river to float. I won't say too much since this is not my territory, but we will definitely be back here for next years pink season.

You're gonna have a ton of fun catching pinks on the Green! But you won't need the pontoons. Plenty of fish from any bank on the river.

The Whitney drift doesn't open for Salmon until November. By then the pinks will be taking their last breaths. It's too bad there isn't a drift to do from Kent downstream.

Yeah the Green isn't a great river for pinks unless you're way down low early in the season. By the time they open the upper stretches, they are all humped out already. Now the Puyallup on the other hand...can fish down low on River Rd and load up on chromers.
