This report is for a two day trip starting the 28th of Feb. I gave this a five because I caught a pig of a native that was released unharmed. Of course I have no pictures cause my phone died on the way over and my brothers 1971 camp trailer had no power! On Sunday, the first day we hooked around a dozen fish and landed seven. All fish were released on the first day. Sunday afternoon around two we walked about two miles down river from Bogans corner. About my third cast my rod tip bounced and stopped suddenly! It was like a jaws movie! My rod bent almost in half as this beast laid out in the middle of the river and just sat there shaking his head laughing at me.

The fight went on for almost fifteen minutes after jumping clear out of the water twice and made two drag stripping runs! After seeing the adipose fin my heart sank as it would have crushed the derby by five pounds!

A soft tape in the water this fish measured 36 1/4 inches! Dang where is a camera when you need one!! We figured he must have been around 13 to 14lbs! Wow! imagine how big this guy was before traveling four hundred miles upstream! He was a fire truck but what a determined fish!! He was never taken out of the water and was sent on his way!

On Monday we hooked seven and landed four. Average fish was 3-6lbs. Used small drift gear and Orange and Chartreuse were the best for me! Remember...always bring a back up camera!!! The memory of that fish will last forever!

Tight Lines!!!
