This report only refers to me. I couldn't catch a cold lately, let alone any fish.

There were plenty being caught around me, but I just couldn't get it going. Had one hooked and brought it in close before it shook the hook.

Talked to someone as I was leaving, he gave me some tips I'll try next time. I've never fished for pinks before and it's been a decade since I last river fished.

It will probably take me a few more trips to get things dialed in, but for now I suck at fishing.

What did you have on your setup? Like leader length, corky size, color, hook size, etc.

forget the long leaders. 30" is about right. a 2'0 hook. one or two small size corkies, perhaps a sprig of yarn, to hold your scent of choice, i like shrimp. for weight, enough pencil head to have you touching bottom every six feet or so. or a half oz cannon ball. cast up at like 1 oclock. let it drint down. the bite is like a small trout. usually. other times, your rig simply stops drifting. if so, set the hook. i have not been down there yet. i like to fish just above freeman. its been my zone, long before the new area and time restrictions. no restrictions on freeman road area now, till the last two days of the month. so. by the 17th, like clockwork, the river will be aswarm with pinks. and silvers. by the first of sep, most of the pinks will be past.

Thanks for the tips. I'll take all I can get.

I was running about 20" leader, 1/0 hook, one of the larger corkies and a sprig of yarn. I tried Pink, Purple, Red, Chartruese and Yellow. I think I was using too much weight though. I was feeling the bottom like a typewriter and was probably missing a lot of bites because of it.
