fished from just after 1500 till dusk. didn't catch a dang thing. I'm new to this whole salmon fishing experience so it'll probably take me some time to actually catch anything. i was using pink corky and yarn with about a 4 foot leader and 1/2 oz lead ball. that didn't work then i tried using a pink spoon nothing there either.

I don't fish that river, but I would advise finding a river or higher spot on that river that doesn't look like chocolate milk. Usually the higher up on the river system you fish the water gets clearer. Pretty tough fishing when the vis is that low.

I have been fishing further down river by the 62nd ave bridge and doing well. Water visibility is no better. Using small pink corkies or small cheaters that are red with black dots. Small piece of yarn or no yarn - seemed not to make a difference.

i would put a lighter piece of lead on there. 1/2 oz makes you not feel the fish as much.

I have been using a mixture of a black corky, black and white corky, with some red yarn on a 3 to 3.5 foot leader. I do not recognize the area you are fishing in, but I suggest driving the river where you can and watching others, and how they fish the river, it might give you a little insight. Also surf the internet, there are tons of site with some great info on fishing for pinks, silver, and kings on the Puyallup. I agree with fishonfishoff...little bit lighter weight will help too!

That looks like up by Sumner, you may want to try lower down by the soccer fields or by the auto dealers. Safeway too.
