took the day off and went to Reiter Ponds for my first time summer Steelheading.
Got in line at 5:45, already 10 ish cars in front of me. 6:00 cars move, the drivers in front have their buddies jump out before the car is even parked, the speed walking competition to get the spots at the mouth of the creek was on...
At 6:15 there were 25 guys within 50 feet of the mouth of the hatchery creek. Two fish were caught in the first 20 minutes - one right at the mouth of the creek and one mid river out from the mouth of the creek. then nothing for the next 4 hours. I walked above the creek and caught a few trout on eggs and a trophy size Sculpin.
didn't see any fish caught on the highway side.
I left at 10.
