I was surveying a portion of Crab Creek for brown plants and happened to run into a couple of schools of Crappie that were taking a white minnow pattern I had tied. As the action slowed, I asked a farmer adjacent to the creek if I could fish his farm pond. That's when the action sped up. It was fairly shallow and like Crab Creek, essentially full of carp, but I did find a few schools that took the minnow pattern easily. It was a blast, and I am sure that farm pond fish don't see a lot of attention. Maybe you should give it a try sometime. Don't forget to ask before you fish!
