Stopped off today on the way home after work for about an hour. Texas rigged up a dark green with multi-colored worm and hit the first open area. Nothing for the first 30 minutes. Moved to a different area and landed this medium sized bass on the 2nd cast, right close to shore. Not bad for my first Bass.

I know people are pretty tight lipped about their secret lakes but if there is anyone that can pm me with information about where this church pond in Bothell is I would greatly appreciate it. I am just trying to find a close place for my girlfriend and I to catch a few fish (she works really inconvenient hours and it is hard to find enough time to take her fishing). Even at least a few hints as to where it is would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, just talked to the owners, and they are feeling like they need to clamp down on access. I'll have to be pretty tight lipped about this one. Before going out to any lake that isn't public, make sure you locate the owners and talk to them first. Make sure you leave the area better than when you showed up. One hint though, if you can be really good about following the selective gear rules for the slough (sammamish river), there's some Northwest Pikeminnows (squawfish) in there that are pretty easy to catch, and hit lures pretty hard. Try using something like a Dick Nite spoon, yellow with sliver speckles. Make sure you put it on a leader, 18" or so. Also, make sure you either file down the barb or smash it down really good with a pair of pliers. Don't take anything but the 3 lures you want to use.

I fish the slough regularly with a friend who lives right next to it and we usually get at least 20-40 squaws and a few trout and smallies mixed in. It is fun but the squaws very rarely put up much of a fight after they hit nice and hard.
