Hit my secret spot today with my nephew bassfanatic,..looking for the Lunkers,..this body of water is very stained and has fallen trees everywhere,..it was like going through a maze just maneuvering around,..this stained lake has a sister lake directly across the gravel path and is fed from said lake,..I caught my PB LMB 26" 6 lbs in 05' form the sister lake and since the stained lake is fed from the other I figured we'd try there 1st,..it was so hard to get around,..water is only maybe 6' deep throughout but the fishfinder was showing fish in only one certain area,..right where the drainpipe was and about 50' out,..we thought at 1st they were all Perch so we wormed it up to verify,..not even a nibble,..after 2hrs of nothing we headed across the gravel road and started Bassin on that side,..no sooner did our Jointed-Raps hit the water,..fish on,..we both caught some ok Bass,..about 1.5 lbs,..what was funny is that we didn't realize how greedy Bass are,..when bassfanatic hooked up we were taking pics and as we lipped the fish for pics we seen a small Perch inside the mouth still breathing,..LOL,..and the greedy sucker still hit the Rapala,..LOL,..we ended up leaving shortly thereafter,..happy that we both finally caught some LMB and knowing that some serious Lunkers thrive in this lake,..we have to fish it even earlier than we did cause it gets very hot on that lake,..if we hadn't wasted time on the other side we might have caught some bigger fish,..they go deeper as it gets hotter,..when we hit the sister side it was about 9 AM and we could see the Bass swimming to and fro searching for Perch,..next time we'll hit it earlier @ the Butt-Crack-Of-Dawn! All fish were C&R!

I have caught smallmouth before that have had 5 inch crawdads sticking out of their throat. They are a very greedy fish but that is good cause they will get bigger faster. Nice fish

Thanks Keith,..I wish we would have hit the other side earlier,..I know there's some Fat Bucketmouths in there cause I caught one B4,..problem is getting permission to fish the water,..when we seen fish on the fishfinder on the stained side we thought they were Perch schooling,..but I seriously think they were Bass,..!
