I think it is probably a starving rainbow much like those large mouth bass that you were catching in that secret area last summer. Did he have much fight to him? Thanks fellas. I can't believe that it is just a skinny rainbow. The jaw is all wrong. It looks like a rainbow and one of those Lahontan (sp?) cutts. used the same towel and this is what they ended up with.

4/11/2009 7:42:00 PMya we didn't eat it, plus when we were cleaning it out it had a tumor like growth growing on its spine. something was definitely wrong with it.

4/13/2009 10:29:00 AMIn a hatcheries protected enviroment some times the fish that shouldnt make it do unfortaully it looks and sounds like that,except that sfdengine13 said you caught bass that looked like that last summer. If thats the case than maybe you should let the d.f.w. know. You also said it was a pond by a friends house, that fish could have been put in polutted water. Is there any plant life growing in the pond. I saw a video of the bottom of the pudget sound and although this fish isnt from the ocean it looks like the fish in the video long, skinny, big headded, and unhealthy. Lots of luck finding out.
