Went to my diamond in the rough spot to get some action since salmon fishing has produced nothing so far this year. Well this was good therapy cause second cast caught a three pounder and knew it was going to be one of those days and it was here are two shot only out of ten fish or so not including the ones that got off espically the biggest, hooked him or should I say her good, fought her for a couple of minutes some nice drag pulls for a big Bass, she kinda gave up then so I thought, the Bass was going away from me did a 180 degress dove down and dirty turned right between me legs and snagged on my waders just below the knee went to reach down and get it and it shook itself loose from two treble hooks which stayed stuck in the waders, didn't see that coming and next time won't let them play around me so much wearing em down. But that was great, it was ok she got away I'll get her another day, also caught a nice Crappie that has grown to a good size since I put them in there, which means some of the Bass are probably eating the smaller ones, there is enough small fish there to sustain the Bass for awhile so should be good fishing for some years to come. Till then fellow fishers until then give a hoot and don't pollute, you know string, hooks, pkgs from the stor, beer cans ect just pack out what you pack in my dog appreciates it not cutting her paws on glass and what ever else some of you'll leave at the waters edge pretty sick but there is always some bad apples that ruin it for the rest of us. Say a older guy down at Nisqually picking up trash and gave him a hand nice to know someone else out there cares also. Tight Lines people.

Nice work! I tried planting some perch SM and LM Bass in the valley I lived in and then moved to ALaska for some years. I have now returned to the Valley and have seen nothing. We put in several 5-gallon buckets a few times of VERY-lively fish who all took off in the beaver ponds and irrigation ditches. What was your trick?

Just to be clear, unless you apply for, and receive a permit to plant fish in a body of water, you are breaking the law by intoducing fish of any species.

Nice bass, BASSER!

Who cares if they guy put in some Crappie at this secret lake!

No offense G-man. Everyone just always gets so techinical on this site about rules and regs & if someone post a picture of their catch/cathes. This Basser guy isn't hurting anyone or anything in this "secret lake".

I could see if this was a public or well know about lake, follow the rules, etc...

Topdawg47 - My comment was not directed at anyone in particular, just stating the facts as it was not mentioned under what circumstances and in which bodies of water the fish were planted by Basser and Liveasyouwill. You need to keep in mind that we have minors and folks who are just getting into fishing on this site and it is important that they are made aware of the regulations, educating fellow fisherfolk is one of the goals of this site. Planting fish without a permit can cause serious issues in the long run and get you into a bunch of trouble with the authorities.

Hey, woah, back up should have told you'll the pond is all by itself has no way of getting in any public waters has been there every since I found it, about 5 years and was probably there before I found it because I was catching Bass, Pumkin Seed, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, and even Cutthroat from day one, figured some Crappie would just add to the mix, help keep a diversity in the pond so all feed ok, did not mean to stir the pot. I should not have said a thing I am aware it is illegal but we are talking about a closed pond has no way of interfering with any public water and that is why the fishing is so dang gone goooood cause you'll haven't fished it, like I said my diamond in the rough, my go to, so if I broke the law, I am sorry hope Gov. Gregroie understands how is her name spelled, Oh yeah who gives a hoot?
If I thought it would hurt the cutthroat population in the lake after putting Crappie in there then how did they survive the Bass and the other fish from eating up there young, exactly did not really make a change in the balance of things at all. No worries hope everything in you'll lives is as fun and not taking to serious as then you would worry to much and therefore not have any fun! Life is short enjoy it while you can and try not to be a stick in the mud, opinionated like everyone else ,has to be heard ,cause a stink, not choosing to live and let live, God Bless and I hope you'll fishing is only fun nothing more nothing less. Tight lines and Give a Hoot don't Pollute!

the law is the law, no acceptions.. some people just don't seem to realize that their actions have consequences. either that or thei're completely oblivious and don't care. whether the end result was good or bad, illegally introducing a new species is never a good idea. especially when you broadcast it on a public website where anyone could find the information and potentially get you busted.. SMH..

You know Elijah, it is people like u I don't care to talk to so I'll just keep my opinion to myself and let u think you mean something by what u said sounds like a bunch of bull to me and I could care less u wrote it just another one of those people who have a voice and think it should be heard cause u said it, well does not me a thing to me, na na na can't hear u. Just fishing not hurting a thing besides even though I put some Crappie in there, now that I think about it there were some in there before I put more in so I wasn't really breaking any laws. Jealous cause u can't find a fishing hole like what I have, ah sorry dude guess u gonna have to fish those public lakes that have illegal fish put in them constantly, good luck catching those minnows! Done with u please do not comment on my reports, don't like your negativity!!

liveasyouwill, don't know what to tell u about putting fish in other places got people breathing down my neck about putting fish in a pond that has no way for the fish to get into any other system and yet yes it is breaking the law but until I get caught doing it, I'm gonna keep on doing it, espically if it is a pond like the one I've been talking about but, no tricks, just took a five gallon bucket full of Crappie and dumped them in, still catching Crappie so I'm guessing the other bully species have not ate them or killed them all seems to be fine in the pond, lots of fry so some fish are reproducing in there and making food for the bigger ones. I do know that if there is a creek feeding in or going out and it has Cutthroat in the pond they will migrate out, seen another pond that had a creek coming in and a spillway going out that had Cutthoat in it and after a few years could not even catch one, so I figured that they migrated out to another system, cause that is what that species does anyway. As for Bass and Yellow Perch they should have done just fine, might have migrated to another place if they have the means to do so but unlikely, if they have a food source they will stay. Tight Lines!
