Tried again to hook into some flounder this morning at a local dock, had no luck, no bites, no sign of life. So we figured we would try something a little different. My buddy and I decided to try out a lake I haven't fished for in probably more that 15 years. We arrived in the afternoon and began throwing out bait on drop-shot and carolina rigs. On the side I was casting out various lures just to have something different in the water. After around 10 casts I thought I snagged, after a few seconds trying to figure out what I snagged on the brown trout jumped out of the water. Put up a good fight for its size and was very chunky for its size as well. Kept receiving little bites close to shore but was not able to get another to hookup, could have been really small fish nipping at it or something else was happening. Happy to get this brown, I have never caught a brown before and it was on my list of new species to catch this year so for that I'm giving this a 4!

Nice post Dmitch. Nice brown trout. In the one pic, there looks like a hook sticking out of the side fin. Is that correct or should I schedule an appt. with my optometrist? *lol*

You might want to schedule an appointment! haha. Nope that is just a pine needle or piece of bark or debris. After I caught it I had to throw him on shore and he got pretty dirty.
