My friend, Kit Carson (an alias, of course--- but his field-craft is top-drawer) invited my wife and I to go fishing with his wife to Lake Roosevelt. Of course we accepted and met at Ft. Spokane for an afternoon of trolling the shorelines around the public boat launch there.

We scored on smallmouth bass, using green wedding rings (!!) and rapalas. Kit was 'showing me the ropes' about Lake Roosevelt and how the small inlets and points along the shoreline hides different fish at different times of the season.

A good afternoon fishing and enjoying the late summer scenery around the shoreline.

Baits that worked: Rapalas (green color; 4-6' deep swimmers) Green wedding rings
Type of fish: Exclusively smallmouth bass this time...
Length of fish: 4", 6", 8", 10" and 12" --- all sent back into the lake swimming hard.
Time of day: Afternoon
Locations: Near shorelines
Condition of water: choppy, from breeze
Lures: See above
Weather: Rainy at start; partly cloudy with breeze
Depth: Trolled in 20-30' deep water, lures at 8'-10'
Boat speed: 1 mph
Number of people we saw on the lake: Maybe 12
