Our party of 6 fished June 24 - 26 from the Hawk Creek campground. Smallmouths were plentiful and most of us got our bass limits every day. Walleyes were harder to come by, with 2 or 3 fish per person the norm although we caught some limits. None of the bass were larger than 13" (and of course those over 12" were released as required by the slot regulation for this species). Most of the walleye were in the 13" to 15" range, but one was caught that taped over 25" and weighed 5 lbs. I made an interesting catch on a bass crankbait, a 3 lb. rainbow. The fishing was best on Friday, which was cloudy, and that's when both of the big fish were caught. We fished the shorelines of both the bay and the main lake. The most productive area was the north shoreline opposite Seven Bays Marina. The fish were in 15 to 20 feet of water. Pink was the hot color this weekend; chartreuse didn't produce as well. Smoke colored plastic tails worked well for me. A blood-red 4" worm trailer was the best walleye producer on this trip. We located a gravel bar in the lee of a sunken island in the Spokane River about a mile upriver from the highway bridge, just south of Crystal Cove, that produced nonstop bass action on Sunday. This island is shown on maps but is underwater right now, with only a bush sticking up, because the reservoir level is high right now.
