I apologize if this is the wrong medium to be asking this in, but I had to find out if someone else has heard something about this: I heard 2nd or 3rd hand that on Wed. June 22, someone fishing from the fishing pier at the park on the north end of Lake Ballinger hooked an extremely large Alligator Gar which then proceeded to launch itself from the water and land on the pier, biting a fisherman and injuring him. I know that sounds ludicrous since Gar are native to the Mississippi drainage area, but it could be an illegal import that grew to huge proportions do to abundant food sources and no real fishing pressure.
