Not sure what happened to my other post but here I go again...
2 and a half day trip 2nd time to Rufus from Tacoma and it was great!
Motored half way to the pens Saturday and realized I wasnt going to make it so turned around with my 2nd can of gas and went back to camp. Sunday drove to Grand Coulee/Seatons Grove launch and motered down 4-5 miles to just above the upper pen in a nice calm hole off the eastern shore and it was on!!! Water temp was 52-54 trolling about 100' back on the top 5-10 ft of water with a double whammy no bait about 0.8 mph and was slaying them, smallest was maybe 2lbs kept my limit all between 4-and 7-8 lbs+ I say pluss cuz this guy in the photo in my cooler was huge maybe 8+? only scale around was a game scale and it didnt do low weights but the stringer with 5 fish hit at 33lbs.
The catching was soo great that it didnt bother me one bit that I didnt have the power to motor back up to seatons grove where my truck/trailor was, or that I thought It was a 17 mile journey that turned into a 40 mile journey to my camp in bridgeport running out of gas after 30 and out of battery soon after finaly towed that last 3 miles to camp, then the 40 minute trip on land to get my truck lol, loved every minute of it.
