My wife and I made a trip over to Lake Roosevelt and stayed out of Wilbur down by the Keller Ferry. Fished on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and didn't touch a fish. Saw lots of fish on my fishfinder at 60' average and threw everything at them that usually produces results for me but not this time!
Still managed to have a great time. A lot of great food and good laughs by the fire.
(Footnote) Now more than ever my wife is convinced that I go gamble or something else when I say I'm going fishing. She thinks I stop by the fish market on my way home!

Hook, ur dilema has been experienced by soooo many of us guys! The best cure is to have a day like my wife Pammy and I had at Drano Lake for steelies in 2009. 19 takedowns , 13 fish to the boat and our limit of nice keepers! Sounds like you gave the Roosevelt bows hell. After a torid steelhead bite at Ice Harbor on the Snake last week, my Expert bro Chris struck out 2 days in a row due to a 65 point swing in the barometer. Oh well, thanks for the report . Jiggy

When the fishing is slow, we still have a nice boat ride, and sometimes, that's all we need. Sorry your trip was a bust, but you made up for it elsewhere. Where were you concentrating your efforts? Did you fish the mouth of the San Poil? Did you try trolling something near the surface? Just curious and trying to help you with future outings. Take care and thanks for your report. ;-)
