On Saturday morning we made the drive from Spokane to the Lincoln boat ramp. The drive wasn’t too much of a white knuckler due to De-Icer being heavily applied to all of the roads except for the last 5 miles from Highway 2 to Lincoln. Not the best stuff to get on your aluminum boat, but it beats jack-knifing into the ditch or worse. We put in a little after 8:00, motored down to the Goat Farm, and had lines in the water just after 8:45. My buddy and his son were with me. With 2-pole permits we were able to troll 5 lines. We had 3 lead-core setups with rapalas out about 150’ and 2 mono setups with perch trolling files on the surface out about 250’. We would have limited out before noon if we hadn’t lost so many fish! For every fish we caught, we lost 3. There were super vicious takedowns, then nothing, again and again. It was worse than fishing for kokanee. The HOT lure of the day was the perch fly. Its strikes outnumbered the rapalas by 2 to 1. The action was pretty steady throughout the day; I don’t think we went more than 20 minutes without a hit. Of course, the hottest times were during snow squalls when the wind picked up. The fish came in groups and we doubled up 4 times. You can imagine the pandemonium with 2 fish on and 3 more lines in the water. We did lose a few during those hectic times. Finally, at 3:00 we landed our 15th rainbow.

I have a good picture of the fish, but I could not get it to upload. I sent it to WA Lakes support, hopefully they will add it today. The largest fish were over 20" and the smallest were in the 16" range.

I read your report the day I submitted mine, but remember thinking I wish there were pics. Now I see them!! Nice haul and great looking fish. We were on the north shore across from Lincoln just after noon, finished our limits by 2:30, then I cleaned fish and we headed back to Seven Bays about 3. I remember seeing one boat downstream of us and one passed us just we getting ready to head back. Thanks for your nice report. :-)

Nice catch! I saw the beer bottle and thought the fish were huge at first....until I saw the "Coronita" label lol

@3footvis – Hey, there’s no WA-Lakes rule that you have to use a 12 oz. bottle as a reference! Normally, we use a Kokanee bottle or if we’re hard up, a can of PBR. I was wondering how long it would take to get called out. Thanks for seeing the intended humor!
