It was a great day of fishing.. Was out with a old friend from school .. We started out trolling downrigger deep in search of Kokanee..We had no luck except one lone trout ..Then we switched to my old stand bye for trout in November and that is trolling flatfish/kwikfish behind mono...To my surprise we hook two Kokanee and lots of trout..We kept the Kokes and the bad hooked trout...It was a great day hardly any boats the rain kept them home...I was fishing out of hunters boat launch.. The 18 inch Kokanee that I have hooked three in the last two days have no signs of spawning..These are young fish that should be 23 in next year.. Read up on the article about a lot of them Kokes being washed down from Idaho.. In the same article the tribe will start planting sterile Kokanee this next year..Those fish will get huge I am thinking..Good luck all and go get some Kokanee..

It's nice to have the lake to yourself and catch a bunch of fish. Those look like great kokanee and trout. Great catch and thanks for the report.

Interesting report! Thanks! Trolling mono and flatfish/kwikfish, were you using any flasher with that? I read the article once but will read it again. Thank You! Keep a tight line!

Nothing but flatfish the ones that are about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long..chrome with red stripe was killing the thought and flo orange was getting the Kokes..We let out about 150 feet of line, probably only running 10 feet down.. I have fished this way a lot and never caught Kokanee.. Thanks guys .. I will be fishing it until December then I will switch to burbot. I will post more when I can..

Thanks for the response to my question about "the can line". Now it seems fairly obvious. Have fished the can line at Coulee but have never been that far down Rufus. Appreciate the feedback.
