I launched solo at first light and headed upriver to a couple of my favorite spots. It was slow at first with a couple of small eyes, a 4 lb. spawned out female and a 17 inch keeper, all caught on jigs, at my first stop. Next I trolled a couple of down deep Husky Jerks and picked up 3 keeper eyes, a 2 lb. smallie and a 5 lb. rainbow. I let the smallie and the rainbow go. I went back to jigging and ended up catching a 5 lb, two 6 lb, and a 7 lb. spawned out females. All were released. I also tried drop shotting a gulp minnow and caught several small eyes as well as a 14 in. crappie. I haven't seen a crappie in the Arm in several years and this one was a stud. I took a picture and sent it on its way. All told I boated 20-25 eyes, 2 smallies, a crappie and a big rainbow. The weather was gorgeous with little wind and Roosevelt has come up a couple of feet so it is only just mildly scary going up to the buoy 5 area. I did see a couple of people hit their props, never good, but they apparently didn't do a lot of damage. Almost all of the eyes I caught were very skinny after the spawn so I expect they will be putting on the feedbag over the next several weeks as they transition back downriver to the main lake. I kept 9 eaters and took a picture after I had already cleaned a 21 1/2 inch spawned out male.

looking at one of your pix it appears that you are just below the 5 can - where do you think
the worst spot is getting there ?? that is one fine crappie - haven't seen one like that since
the last time i was in MN. hope to go up river tomorrow for a while and would hate to have
to use the kicker to come home with.

The water level has come up 6 feet in just the last couple of days so it isn't quite as bad if you know where the river channel is. The shallowest spot I saw was at the base of the buoy 5 spit right as river veers right towards the big green 5 sign. On Saturday I saw 3.5 ft. and had to tilt my big motor up quite a bit.
