So with my buddy Craig arriving Sunday to Park lake, I wanted to make this a special trip as he has missed the last 3 events with me due to a variety of misfortunes- so with all the great reports coming out of Lake Roosevelt and having only fished it once with my brother in law, I made the choice to contact Capt. Dave's guide service to see if he had an opening on Monday the 16th. Low and behold he did and am I glad we made that decision!!

We met Dave at 6 am. well we arrived at Spring canyon at 5:30 as we were a little anxious to get started but Dave showed up early so we were on the water by 6 am so started our troll. I was very impressed with the innovative techniques and attention to detail by our guide and it wasn't long before we had our first 2 hawgs in the boat! Man are these fish huge! Craig was grinning from ear to ear as we motored down towards the dam and by 10am we had our limit of kokes!

So Dave switched everything over to rainbow gear and by 11:30 had 4 rainbows in the boat! Now I had contacted Mav186 who just happened to be over in this neck of the woods too this week and we kept in touch with him out on the water as he was plying it as well. He had generously offered to take Craig and I over to Rufus woods when we were done fishing with Dave so met him at the launch at noon and followed him to Rufus Woods.

We put in at Seaton Grove and motored up the first set of pens and worked it for about 3 hours without a bump but it was great to see Steven and get a chance to ride in his sweet boat again. He gave us a tour back to the launch and pointed out many good spots for us to try on our own some day! It was an awesome day!!

So now to prepare for day 2 on our own- report to follow!

See you on the water!

Nice report and great to see you were able to hook-up with our friend MAV...missed him at the Chelan outing this year.
