Needed to get the dust off the steelhead gear for the upcoming opener so I headed to the Snake river for some preseason C&R. Drifted a Rock bouncer jig on a bober anywhere for 15' to 26' you just need to say near the bottom and keep moving. Total of 8 fish released at the boat 4 to 8 LBS 4 long line releases and 4 take downs not hooked up. All fish released were never removed from the water or even touched. If you can not see the hook just cut your line, hooks are cheap one of these bright stellies is priceless!!

The hook will be gone in a few days according to Fish & Game. Most of the time you can get pliers on a jig but if you use just hooks don't try to remove it if it's deep..

I'd like to take my boys out on the Snake, any advice on a place to start from. I don't mind paying my dues learning the river, but it never hurts to ask. Might save me a few, ok more then a few in my case, unproductive floats LOL!
