7/28/2013 10:26:00 PMWell, barely maybe - but thanks. Driving an hour and a half for one four pound catfish isn't what I'd call superlative fishing. Best day out there was two 1-lb bullheads and two channel cats (3 and 5 pounds) in a whole night of fishing. Not exactly my goal of a cooler full of cats in an evening.
I think next time I'll exercise a couple of recommended locations - off Bateman (in a different spot then I tried before) and around Casey Pond.
Ultimately the problem is that I've got sooooo much to learn about catfish, and too little time or patience to figure them out. I'm a Reagan child - I demand immediate gratification, dammit. ;-P
In reality, I'm still more than a bit puzzled about their behavior - what do they do during the day, what water temperatures do they want, what do they feed on in this area, what is their behavior during the day and night, etc.

7/29/2013 1:34:00 PMI did my best at night but you can get them in the day. Chicken livers; water dogs and fresh sucker meat have work for me. You keep putting in your time that's what makes a good fishermen and we will be asking you for tips. God bless
