5/1/2017 10:32:57 AMi fished there last year the fish where soft and just plain gross, not sure if i would eat anything out of there. and yes there was some kind of goo all over everything?

I was at Nahwatzel lake with my youngest daughter Jennifer for about two hours and was fishing near the public boat launch with two other folks. For the first hour I pulled in nothing but balls of aquatic muck and some old fishing line. I changed up my gear a bit and decided to go to a 3 - 4 ft leader and started to use chartreuse power eggs with chartreuse power bait and this did the trick. I hooked into a nice little beast that was directly off the boat launch and he put up a fight. I had to bump up the drag for this guy which turned out to be a 17" beauty.
I only caught one rainbow today but he was a sweet one. (I gave the day a 4 since the people around us were into the fish also).
