Ok my first report!.
At 8 am or so I launched at the Boat Launch above Chief Joe dam, one other boat trailer was there. .
I rigged up and started fishing 100 yards from the boat dock.
I started off bouncing bottom walkers looking for some early morning walleye, with no luck after an hour or so of trying I changed gear and rigged up to do some trout and triplod Fishing. Using leaded line and on one rig used baby hot wings and a 4"dodger in front of that and a regular 2 hook wedding ring, with a crawler on the bottom hook and power bait on the top. On the other pole I used the large wings and another wedding ring baited the same way. Crossing to the other side of the river letting out 2 to 3 colors on the very first pass by the cans I hooked a nice 13 inch trout. On the next pass I hooked another on the other rod but it released itself before I could get it in the net. I kept getting bites and losing fish for the next few hours. I quit around noon and the wind picked up soon after.
 It was a beautiful day.
One boat load of anglers said they were not having any luck.
Some may think it was a poor day fishing but a fish and lots of bites makes a fine day for me. I don' t eat Trout but I needed to get the gear wet and it is always fun catching them. The fish are in there and if you work at it they can be caught.
Oh the only draw back today is a terrible smell that I thought was the fish hatchery but I located the source to be a dead cow on the debris next to the can line.. It is getting really ripe!!
The launch there is one of the best in our area I think, the restrooms are always clean and have toilet paper. I wish they would put in a fish cleaning station.
