I did not realize putting scent on a lure was the same as using a ball of Powerbait with a treble hook. Interesting rule. My little red hooks never get swallowed so they never damage the fish. More theories to test.

I fish for RB's, usually. Haven't talked to anyone at the launch that fished other than morning, sorry. Did see a F&G Warden there on Tues., last. Pretty sure all fish, kept or released count as part of a legal limit, when using "bait" (scent or corn, worm, etc.) , you may want to check on this, I could be wrong. Just a "lure" without scent/bait is fine, not counted when released. IDK the fine, but I imagine pretty stiff considering "senior discount" is at age 70+....

5/24/2017 10:05:23 PMYou are completely right. My old school ways need a refresher class in the rule book. I always kept gut-hooked fish no matter the size because they were going to die even if released. Lip hooked fish usually live to fight another day. Interesting this rule doesn't apply to steelhead or salmon. I had a 35lb chinook caught in the Chehalis on eggs I would have loved to keep.

5/24/2017 9:09:33 PMGlade to see a report that finally someone caught some kokanee on american. I haven't seen any other reports this year that anyone had much luck other than trout. Not that there hasn't been. Thanks for the report.

5/24/2017 10:14:40 PMMy neighbor caught a 2 1/2 lb kokanee about three weeks ago when they were 20 feet deep in the same area. Two weeks ago I caught a fat (2lb) 16 1/2 inch kokanee same depth. They are there. This is the first time I have caught more than two in one day. They seem to be spread out all over the lake in the deeper water. Today my wife and I (we have double pole endorsements) were pulling four types of lures at four different depths. The action was very slow but we did manage to catch two kokanee and five trout in a four hour period. Thirty feet seemed to be the zone today. None released today.

5/25/2017 8:35:49 PMYes I know of a few who have caught kokanee in the evening. one got a limit a couple of weeks ago in about and hour and half. It may differ as the season progress.
I have only caught 2 this year. BUT I see lots on my Water Wolf hanging with the trout which I have shared in my reports.

5/29/2017 11:25:30 AMMajor Bailey, My best friend (Dab Bailey)and I fished last Friday and didn't get a bite we were down 35-40 pretty day going about same speed I bet we were under them you did very well you should be proud.
