Took my new Lund Crossover 1875 out for its' maiden voyage.
Left Keller Ferry around 8:00am and went .5 mile down river/lake to Camel's Back. Was fishing for Kokanee, but couldn't keep the Rainbows off the line. Ended up with 10 fish all about 14 - 18", all healthy releases. Was fishing with Mack's dodger and cha cha with corn. The bows didn't seem to have a preference, they were hitting on pink, orange, and green. Was using downriggers between 15 - 25 feet as well as leaded line out about 4 colors.

Wanted to get a few silvers, but the rainbows were fun.

WARNING: Lake level is very low and is rising about 12" a day. Lots of debris in the water. This also likely affected the bite which turned cold about 10:30am for the rest of the day.

Congrats on the new boat. I did see it when you pulled out. Looks like the deer on the left has a collar on. Where was the picture taken?

The deer were all three bucks in full velvet. They were in a cove on the beach East Shore of the San Poil. We took the boat up there just for a ride as there was less junk in the water.

Good report. It sounded like you released the fish. If so, you might want to check the regs. I do believe you must keep any fish cought with bait. While shore fishing recently, we were checked by the law and he said he was watching us and happy to see us keep the fish we cought. So be careful out there.
Good luck and tight lines

Not true ChuckVH, all trout caught with bait count toward your daily limit, but you are not required to keep them. See pg 15 of the rules pamphlet, "When fishing with bait, all TROUT (except STEELHEAD) equal to or greater than the minimum size are counted as part of the daily limit whether kept or released." At Roosevelt, kokanee are excluded from the TROUT daily limit, see the special rules on pg 92, "No min. size. Daily limit 5. Up to 2 over 20" may be retained. KOKANEE not included in TROUT daily limit."

As of December, no native trout may be retained - good on mayday for sending that nice 'bow back!
