My fiance and I made it to Loon again, this time in the morning rather than after work. We were on the water and trolling by 7:30 A.M. Again made it to the southwest side of the lake. I decided to make a few changes to my hoochie rigs the night before. I made sure to actually measure all of my leaders, we fished either 12" or 14" leader. 12" seemed to be a better bite earlier in the morning and then the 14" started hitting more consistent from 10-Noon. They were built the same way, pink smile blade, fish egg colored body beads and pink squid body, 2 red Gami hooks tied close together. Now i think it is more than likely just a fishing coincidence that there was a severe change in hit consistency, however i figured the more information i can give the happier all of us fishing nerds are. We were also running a green and pink sling blade dodger (14") and white/pink fast limit dodger with the (12"), Home made corn with some tuna in water added, with Graybills' garlic and salmon scent. Trolling at about 1.5-1.8 seemed to be the best bite, we got takes at slower speeds but it wasn't as consistent. The water temp was 74.1 and got up to 76 by the time we were off the water at noon. We managed a limit we sever lost opportunities, largest was 13" (of course she caught it.) We also caught fish at 25 feet the entire time, never had to change once we found that is where they were, we fished from 45-90 feet of actual lake depth and still managed constant bites. I would also like to throw out a plug for REDD Drift apparel for the bait towel hook up! They make some pretty snazzy hats and shirts, if you are interested in checking them out they are a local company that a good friend of mine created for a side hobby. I will add a link to the bottom for those interested! I think that covers it, tight lines y'all

How long did you soak the corn (overnight)? You said you made it to the southwest side of lake but did you troll all over the lake? Was it GPS trolling speed or other type of speed indicator? What size of smile blade? How many beads? You dont have to give all your secrets out but I am really interested in finding a mid to late summer lake for koks and other fish close to home. I used to fish Pend Orielle and Couer d'Alene with jack Lloyd and wedding rings and white shoe peg corn. It sounds like the way you fish for these fish in loon is quite different. Like I say any tips would be appreciated.

Ill send you a pm with a picut6e in it of my rig. The body only has 4 beads, 2 are kind of tucked into the squid, the trailer has a couple on it, this varies a little also as i build them differently on purpose at times. The only other place i trolled was accross the pond at granite point, had a few fish there but not as hot as the other side. Granted these fish do move so they may not be there. I was out last night and we had about 15, lost alot and only kept a few. My trolling speed i used an Iphone app, on my 6hp kicker im just above idle, just a smidge. The corn has not seemed to matter, i used some that i had from a week prior, i also used some that i built right there on the boat with no soak time. I dont think these fellas are that picky, i think its mostly a sight predator thing with them. Hope that helps.

thanks for taking the time on the info. Not familiar with the PM process but would like to see a pic of the lure.
