Changed it up by fishing Sawyer today. Got there pretty early. Tried topwater for a while without even a wake. Switch to swimbait and dropshot. No wind. Smooth as glass. Very relaxing.

Caught several small 8-10" LMB on the swimbait and dropshot around the lake. Didn't take long for it to get hot out on the water. Only caught 1 SMB today and it was the biggest fish of the day. Maybe a little over a pound @ ~13". Spotted a big bass shallow, but it had no interest in me.

Felt lots of small nips all over. Caught plenty of small ones, just no size to them for me. Forgot phone in car, so no pictures. Then again, no fish were picture worthy.

What depth did you catch the SMB in? Were you working in sunny areas or a mix of sun and shade?

I started off near the SE bank area still in the shade. Just above the tiny island. In the shallows.
Then tried the west side in direct sun. Tried shallow bank, then the deeper edge in 10-15'.

Fished the weedy hump in the middle.

As I was leaving the hump, found a small isolated patch of weeds in 19', but nothing biting in it. Then back east side. The SMB was on the east side in about 12' of water on deep corner of dock.

I asked because I have been fishing Sammamish the last two days. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I kept working around the shade as the sun came up. Seems that the most productive has been in about 15 - 18 fow on the edge of the weedline. We picked up six in the 3 lb size in one small area. I kept laughing as I thought we were catching the same fish as all were released in the same area, but they all varied about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, so I know they were different fish. All just hugged the bottom and didn't make the usual side run away from the bottom Getting too hot now for me. I thought about Sawyer so I could start earlier there.
